We see the Zentraedi fleet in Earth orbit and once again that asshole Khyron is pissed off at Azonia because they’ve received orders not to attack the SDF-1. At that Gloval orders Claudia to set a course for Canada. Maybe she’s dead too? Yay! In the bridge Sammy tells Captain Gloval that they’ve received a message from the Ontario Quadrant, (They’re not a part of the United Earth Government.) She goes on to say that they’re willing to accept the survivors from the SDF-1. All of a sudden she collapses and falls into Kyle’s arms. In her dressing room Minmei walks in and she tells Kyle that her head hurts and she feels really tired. She notices that he’s different now, but she can’t finish her thought because he starts talking about a new better barrier system that actually covers the entire ship this time. Rick tells her that things are just going alright between them, but she’s been spending a lot of her time with her cousin Lynn Kyle.

She then changes the subject and asks Rick if the girl singing on the PA is his girlfriend Minmei. Rick starts to talk about the survivors of Macross Island and what they’re going to do with them. Lisa not being someone who’s known for her comforting skills just makes the dullest small talk. Lisa spots Claudia but she figures that she doesn’t want any company so she goes to join Rick. Next to a big bay window Rick is also just standing there depressed as hell. In the mess hall Claudia is sitting by herself not drinking her coffee because she’s so depressed about Roy’s untimely and unnecessary death. In the bridge they’re talking about the fact that they hope that someone picked up the transmission and that headquarters will change their minds. Gloval then says that he won’t stop until his orders are changed. So wow, there’s been a lot of deaths amongst the civilian population.) The controller tells him that they can’t do that since no one is allowed to leave the ship.

Gloval seems to have had enough with their bullshit and he tells them that they’ll turn back around as soon as they let all of the 56,000 survivors off of the ship. We hear on the radio some controller from the United Earth Government telling them to turn around and go back out into the ocean because they’re causing the mother of all panics on the ground. So big surprise there’s a panic on the ground because they’re seeing this massive humanoid space ship flying low above them. We start off with the SDF-1 flying over a city and in the novelization it said that it was Los Angeles. He goes on to say that most of the crew is down about these events, especially Claudia. The narrator comes on and reminds us of the untimely death of Commander Roy Fokker.
